DI(fr)Yday: How to make a mistletoe pomander

I'm a huge fan of pomanders and of mistletoe, so I thought it would be cute to make a mistletoe pomander this Christmas. After seeing some mistletoe on Pinterest that had pearls for berries, I had a vision of what I wanted it to be: a sphere of soft green leaves and tiny pearl berries all tied up with an ice-blue, velvet ribbon.

Here's how you can make one too . . .

You will need:
How to make a mistletoe pomander

-A styrofoam ball (floral section of craft shop)
-A spring of fake leaves
-Enough velvet ribbon to wrap around the ball about four times
-A few sprigs of pearls on wire (bridal section of craft shop)
-Glue gun

Step 1. Hot glue a piece of ribbon all the way around the styrofoam ball.
Step 2. Hot glue another piece of ribbon around the ball perpendicular to the first piece.
Step 3. Trim the leaves from the greenery sprig. With a small dot of hot glue under each leaf, fill in the space between the ribbons with the larger leaves, slightly overlapping as shown.
Step 4. Glue the smaller leaves around the edge nearer to the ribbon as show.
Step 5. Nestle sprigs of pearls under the folds of leaves, evenly spaces them, securing with a small dot of hot glue.
Step 6. Bend the sprigs slightly so that they curve in toward the ball.
Step 7. Continue adding pearls until you are satisfied with the look of your pomander.
Step 8. Create a bow with another piece of ribbon by making two loops as shown and hot gluing the layers to each other.
Step 9. Do the same on the other side and snip Vs into the ends of the ribbons.
Step 10. Wrap a short piece of ribbon around the middle of the box, securing with hot glue on the bottom.
Step 11. Create a loop out of another pice of ribbon, gluing it to the place where the ribbons cross on the pomander.
Step 12. Glue the bow on top of the place where the loop is glued.

Steps 13 and 14 are to hang your finished mistletoe pomander and to find someone sweet to kiss under it.
